Kanpur:
Keeping in view the increasing incidents of chain snatching in the industrial city, the administration has put a ban on riding motorbikes with faces covered.
The ban was ordered following a large number of chain snatching incidents in the city involving speeding bikers with covered faces, SP (Rural) Lal Bahadur said.
All the police stations in the city have been asked to thoroughly check motorcyclists whose faces are covered and detain the suspicious ones, he said.
Bikers wearing helmets with dark glasses will also be examined at the crossings, he said.
While, women who ride bikes with their faces covered have been exempted from the ban.
