Bangalore students allegedly assaulted for demanding alcohol
Bangalore: Four students were beaten up by the staff of a restobar in Bangalore around 11.45 pm on Tuesday night.

The students, aged around 25 years, visited bar after closing hours and demanded alcohol.

But when the bar staff refused to give them alcohol, a squabble broke out between both parties. Soon the police was informed, who reached the spot and took them to the police station.

The cashier of the bar, who was at the police station, alleged that the boys abused them and started hitting the staff when they refused to serve the students.

"We had no option but to hit them back to defend ourselves from the aggressive men," he said.

On the other hand, the students allege that the staff at the bar was selling alcohol to others even after the closing hours.

"Seeing others buying liquor from the bar, even we went there. However, they denied giving us alcohol. When we asked the reason why they didn't want to sell us alcohol, they started hitting us with sticks."

Inspector HG Tippeswamy from KR Puram police station said that a case has been registered and the incident is being investigated.
