Bangalore: In an allegation on the Bangalore traffic police, a young college student has alleged that he was assaulted by the traffic cop who pushed him from his bike. The student who was not wearing a helmet while riding said he was about to stop but cop still pushed him down.
Mohammed Saifulla, student ,"I wanted to stop, He punched me - I couldn't control my bike - my nose was totally bleeding."
A case of assault has been registered against the constable involved - but police officials say there is more to this than meets the eye.
Praveen Sood, ACP, Traffic "I don't want to prejudge the issue but anyone can see these injuries were not caused by a fist. We have already ordered an inquiry and If the policeman is at fault we will take action. But from the prima facie it does not like a case of assault based on the injuries."
Well it is difficult to say who is right and who is wrong. However, rising incidents of cops assaulting commoners in the city may bring bad publicity for the city that attracts students from across the world.
