Bangalore woman allegedly burnt by husband delivers baby boy
Bangalore: The 29-year-old woman, who was rushed to Victoria Hospital after her husband Syed Abdur Rehman allegedly set her on fire on Sunday night in their Iliyas Nagar home, gave birth to a baby boy in Sevakshetra Hospital.

"We have not filed any complaints yet. We're not sure if these wounds have been self-inflicted or if she was attacked. No medico-legal case has come to us yet," said Inspector Baba Narona. (Read: Bangalore man allegedly set pregnant wife on fire after fight)

He added, "Meharunnisa's husband was here last night complaining about her and this is not the first time he has done something like this. He was here three months ago saying they fought."

Baba Khan, Meharunnisa's neighbour, said, "Her husband has not visited her and the baby yet. She is well-educated unlike him, and they fought mostly because of their religious differences."

A staff nurse at the hospital said both Meharunnisa and the baby were doing well.

"She is in a much better condition compared to yesterday morning. The baby is doing well too. We're treating her burns and following the right protocols to ensure her safety," she said
