Bangalore woman kills ex-lover's girlfriend

Bangalore: Love can be bizarre. And as if to prove this, a 40-year old woman killed her ex-lover's girlfriend, with the help of her boyfriend.

L Shridevi, a roadside vendor, was having an illicit affair with Raju, a popcorn vendor. Both of them had left their respective partners to live together five years ago. They rented a house near the Victoria Hospital.

Last year, Bangari (32), a fruit vendor, started to do the rounds near the couple's house. Over a period of six months, she started showing interest in Raju, and he reciprocated. They kept their relationship a secret, but since both were heavy drinkers, Shridevi caught them having sex one night.

Shridevi was livid, and confronted Raju. This led to a bitter quarrel, following which, Raju told her to leave the house. Shridevi then went to Narasimha Gouda (30), an old flame, and rekindled her relationship with him.

The couple took a house on rent, and started living together. But Shridevi was still seething with rage, and wanted revenge on Bangari. She confided in Narasimha, and the duo hatched a plan to kill her.

On October 11, they invited Bangari for a few drinks near the Victoria Hospital. An unsuspecting Bangari accepted. After a few drinks, when Bangari was completely drunk, the duo took her to their house, and hit her on the head with a club. Bangari died on the spot.

At midnight, they took her body near Victoria Hospital, dumped it on the roadside, and fled the spot. Investigations led the police to Raju the next day, who told them about his relationship with her.

After further investigations, the cops finally arrested Shridevi on October 13. In her confession, she admitted to killing Bangari, and also named Narasimha as her accomplice.

Kalasipalya Police Inspector  O Bhaskar said, "Narasimha and Shridevi killed Bangari in a revenge spree. They have confessed to their crime, and have been sent to judicial custody."
