Bangalore:
A 27-year-old woman in Bangalore killed her lover using the string of her petticoat in her husband's presence. The duo then kept the body for five hours in the house, before disposing it off in an isolated area.
Vijayalaxmi S was having an affair with Muttukaman alias Bond, a native of Mysore and a daily wage worker at the city railway station and KSRTC bus stand.
Two years ago, he made friends with Shrinivas, Vijaylaxmi's husband, and a rickshaw driver. They would drink together, and Shrinivas would often take him home for dinner. There, Bond met Vijayalaxmi and made friends with her.
Within a few days, Bond started visiting their house whenever Shrinivas was away and started an affair with Vijayalaxmi.
On September 14, Shrinivas called Bond to his house, saying he had to transfer some goods. The trio drank liquor and Shrinivas offered him a bed to sleep. After an hour of sleeping, Bond tried to sneak into Vijayalaxmi's bed but she refused, since her husband was in the house.
But an inebriated Bond tried to force himself on her, and a heated argument ensued. The verbal exchange woke up Shrinivas.
A terrified Vijayalaxmi, realising that Shrinivas would come to know of the affair, started crying and convinced Shrinivas that Bond was trying to rape her.
She then took the petticoat string, and strangled Bond, killing him on the spot.
At 4 am, the duo took the body in their auto and dumped it in an isolated spot near Kaveri Apartments in SVJ Nagar.
The Vijay Nagar police, who couldn't get any clues, published his picture, and put them up in all busy areas. Bond's co-workers identified the picture and informed the police about him and his friendship with Shrinivas. When the police finally arrested the couple, Vijayalaxmi told them the truth.
B Jagannath Rai, PI, Vijayanagar police station, said, "She killed him because he tried to get intimate with her when the husband was in the same house. Then they dumped the body in SVJ Nagar to get rid of the clues."
