Bareilly:
Curfew was partially lifted in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district on Wednesday where violence broke out two days ago, police said.
There has been no incident of violence since Monday evening.
After the curfew was lifted for two hours in the day, people came out in large numbers to shop, fearing that the curfew might be clamped again.
The curfew was relaxed in the Kila, Subhashnagar and Kotwali areas.
The administration on Tuesday night lifted the curfew in violence-hit areas including Izzatnagar. Curfew has been fully lifted in Cantonment, CB Ganj and Bithri Chainpur areas.
Schools and colleges, however, remained closed on Wednesday.
Nearly 150 people have been held for breaking the curfew and over 800 people arrested for indulging in violence.
One person was killed and several people were injured in the violence late on Sunday.
