Bareilly on brink, Maulana released

Bareilly: In a bid to defuse the communal tension in Bareilly, parts of which have been under curfew for virtually10 days, the police on Thursday filed a report before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court closing the investigation against Maulana Tauqir Raza and giving him a clean chit.

Maulana Tauqir Raza who was arrested on Monday, was released from the district jail on Thursday evening.

Reports are that curfew has been imposed in Subash Nagar area of Bareilly Police station. Three  shops and three trucks have been reportedly set on fire.
