Hyderabad:
A couple accused of badly beating up a young orphan employed with them as a domestic help in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh have been arrested along with the man who sent the eight-year-old girl to them.
Rajitha, the orphan girl, has been admitted to a government hospital after being battered and bruised by her employers. She is in a severely malnutritioned condition.
She would be admitted to a government-run children's home after being discharged.
"Her health condition would be assessed tomorrow. After she is discharged from the hospital, we will admit her in a children's home," a government official said.
Narayana and Chennamma, the couple who beat up the girl, were arrested on Sunday. Premnath, who employed her as a servant with the couple, has also been arrested, police said.
