Mumbai:
For once, being a
bhai will not get you into any kind of serious trouble.
As Mumbai's fascination continues with the underworld, a gaming company has seen a great opportunity and developed a game, Mumbai Underworld, through which they hope to cash in the common man's fantasy of being a part of the dark side.
Rahul Rajdan, spokesperson of the gaming company, said, "Our objective was to showcase the Mumbai underworld and create a platform for gamers to get a feel of the underworld."
"The game has nothing to do with any individual in Mumbai underworld but the entire inspiration has been drawn from the Mumbai underworld being in existence for many years," Rajdan further added.
In the game, the gamer graduates from being a small-time goon to a full-fledged don in four levels.
The game allows one to buy dance bars, casinos, smuggling ports and liquor shops to expand the gamer's criminal underworld empire.
One of the features even reflects the actual situation in the underworld such as looting money from friends' illegal properties through gang wars.
Although the game runs for duration of 12 hours, it offers a lot of flexibility. The minimum income can be collected only after 30 minutes.
"I think it's a good concept. It provides the gamer with the feeling of being a don, once you advance to the higher level," said Mridul Sharma a Bandra-based gamer.
Another gamer from Vasai, Nirmal Jain, said, "The Mumbai underworld is a very interesting topic and there is a large scope of exploring this subject."
Maruti Shanker, a gaming expert, commented, "The story keeps evolving with new items and features. This makes the game feel fresh and less monotonous."
