A French national was arrested in south Delhi on Sunday after his car hit an unidentified beggar who died on the spot, police said.
The incident took place in Vasant Vihar when the beggar was crossing the road.
The car of the French national, whose identity was not revealed by police, hit the beggar and he died on the spot.
"Eyewitnesses told us that the beggar was drunk and was crossing the road when the accident took place," a senior police official said.
The French national was arrested and a case under Section 304(a) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 279 (rash and negligent driving) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.
