Bhopal's great gold robbery: 12 kilos, 3 hours

Bhopal: At seven am this morning, four armed men overpowered two security guards on duty at the Manapuram Gold Leaf Company in the busy Bus Stand area of Bhopal. The company loans money to clients against deposits of gold.

For three hours, high drama followed. The armed men, now inside, took five employees, including two women and the manager, hostage one after the other as they walked in to work, beat them up and locked them in the bathroom. They then forced the manager to open the safe at gunpoint.    

The robbers finally left with 12 kilos of gold worth two and a half crore rupees. After the looters left, the company's employees broke the bathroom's door, came out and only then could inform the police, who are now investigating the case.
