A woman and three children died early on Sunday after being run over by a speeding train in Bihar's Jehanabad district, police said. Another child, a three-year-old girl, was seriously injured.
Residents around found four dead bodies and the injured child lying next to the tracks, somewhere between Jehanabad station and Karana halt, Government Railway Police (GRP) officer in-charge Krishna Kumar said.
The injured three-year-old was taken to the district sadar hospital, where the doctors referred her to Patna Medical College and Hospital, he said.
The identities of those killed in the incident could not be established so far, Mr Kumar said, adding that more details will be available in the case after a thorough investigation.
