A 33-year-old man suffered minor injuries after the branch of a tree fell on him near Binny Mills Main Road leading to Magadi Road Junction on Friday. The incident happened following heavy rains which lashed the city on Thursday night causing several trees to fall off.
The man, identified as Naresh Kumar, a private company employee, was going on his bike when a part of the tree, which was weakened by rains, fell on him. Naresh Kumar suffered minor head injuries. Passers-by rushed him to Gayathri Hospital in Vijayanagar.
Doctors at the hospital said Naresh was out of danger and his condition was stable. However, those who took the victim to the hospital disappeared immediately after admitting him. Police are trying to find out his personal details since no relative had visited the hospital so far.
Traffic was not hit as pedestrians cleared the fallen branch before BBMP officials reached the spot.
The impact of the heavy rains on Thursday night was so much that 25 trees fell in D'Souza Nagar alone, creating problems for residents.
