Erode: Bodies of three elephants were found in two forest ranges in the district, official sources said here

A veterinary doctor,who examined the bodies said the mother elephant died as it did not get sufficient food after the delivery. Its calf also died due to lack of food and milk, official sources said today.
Forest Department officials buried the bodies in the forests.
They also noticed decomposed carcass of a male elephant at Vattamalai in Kothamangalam forest range area yesterday. It was revealed in the postmortem report that the death might have been occurred due to attacks by tiger or panther, whose population is high in the forests.
