Delhi:
The body of Ram Nath Singhla, a Chandigarh businessman, was found inside his car, wrapped in three long pieces of cloth, each of a different colour. The body was discovered in Ganesh Nagar area of east Delhi.
"The killer had first wrapped Singhla's body in a white cloth. He then did the same with a red and a yellow sheet. We had some difficulty in untying the knots. Prima facie it appears that the killer was known to the victim," said a senior police officer.
Additional deputy commissioner of police IB Rani said that Ram Nath Singhla had a business in Chandigarh; he lived with his family in Safdarjung area of south Delhi. He had been missing for two days and a complaint had been lodged at the Shakarpur police station on Monday night.
"Sunita, a vegetable vendor, discovered the body and called the police. A case of murder has now been lodged at Shakarpur police station," said the official. Meanwhile, a police source said that preliminary investigations suggest a property dispute could be the motive.
