Assistant Sub-Inspector Fariyad Hussain said no suicide note was found.
Kota:
The body of a 23-year-old man from Darjeeling was found hanging from a tree near the Chambal river in Gulabpura area on Thursday, police said.
Paasang Pamang, a resident of Bhanugram in Naxalbari, is likely to have committed suicide, Assistant Sub-Inspector Fariyad Hussain said, but added no suicide note was found.
The tree trunk bore foot marks, most likely of Paasang's. Assistant Sub-Inspector Hussain said Paasang's appearance suggested he could have been with the Army or the police.
An autopsy is scheduled for today after the arrival of Pamang's family members.
