A minor boy was crushed to death under the wheels of a school bus on Gaya today triggering protest by locals, the police said.
A 12-year-old boy, who went to school for the Republic Day function, was crushed to death under the wheels of a DAV school bus at Cherki road, City Superintendent of Police Akhtar Hussain said.
Angry over the incident, locals pelted stones at the school building in which three students were injured. They also damaged three motorcycles and cycles parked there, Hussain said.
Later, the locals jammed the road with the body demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation for the bereaved family.
The administration brought the situation under control and arranged transport for school children return to their homes after the Republic Day function, the SP said.
