Dhanbad, Jharkhand: A little boy was crushed to death under an elevator in an apartment in Dhanbad in Jharkhand on Thursday.
Police sources said Ayush Arpit (8) was going to third floor from ground floor when the elevator got stuck at second floor as power tripped.
As Ayush raised an alarm and residents of the apartment were pulling him out, the elevator started moving up all of a sudden with power resumption.
The hapless boy's face got totally crushed under the elevator in the process and he died on the spot, the sources said.
Ayush, whose father S Kumar is a railway engineer posted at Bhubaneswar, had come to Dhanbad to meet his grandfather A K Sinha, a sub-divisional engineer in Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB).
