Boy found with throat slit in Mumbai
Mumbai: A 3-year-old boy was found with his throat slit in Mumbai at the Kurla rickshaw stand around 7 pm on Sunday night, nearly 5 hours after he went missing.

The boy's father returned home at 12 pm on Sunday to have a meal with his wife and children. The couple called out to their son who was playing outside but did not get a response.

Realising that something was wrong, they decided to go to different beat chowkies to check if their son was nearby.

Around 6.30 pm when they went to the Sakinaka police station to file a missing persons report, a police officer told them that a child's body had been found in Kurla and they should go there to identify the body.

"We went to several police stations and made announcements in madrasas, mosques and even in pandals, as they have loud speakers," said Sanjay Singh, a close relative.

"I am very shocked to see my child lying on the stretcher. I simply cannot understand why anyone would want to kill my innocent child. I urge the police to find the person responsible for this ghastly act," said Ramesh Singh.

Authorities told MiD DAY that they were looking at all possible angles and were questioning the security guard, who was on duty at the scene of the crime.

Sub-Inspector Manisha Jadhav said, "The boy was kidnapped from Sakinaka and was found dead in Sunder Baug. Further investigations are on."
