Theni (Tamil Nadu):
A boy, studying in the ninth standard of a government-aided school, has been hospitalised after being beaten up by a teacher and the headmaster for falsely stating that the monthly exam had been postponed, police said.
They said the student had told his friends that the exams would not be held as scheduled and had been postponed to next week.
An enquiry revealed he had spread the 'news', following which his class teacher and the headmaster beat him up on Friday.
The boy later informed his parents and also complained of chest pain, following which he was admitted to the government hospital, where his condition was stated to be stable.
