Boy thrown out of train, loses legs
Burdwan: A class tenth student lost his both legs after he was allegedly thrown out of a running train by two youths following an argument over charging cellphone battery, police said on Friday.

Prakash Yadav was travelling from Dhanbad to Howrah in Poorva Express when two youths asked him to remove his mobile phone from the plug point as they wanted to charge their cell phone. An argument broke out between them and the duo allegedly threw him out of the sleeper coach of the train on Wednesday evening near Panagarh, Officer-in-Charge of Durgapur GRP, Ratan Ganguly said.

"His left leg came under the wheels. The right leg had to be amputated from below the ankle as it was badly injured," he said.

He was writhing in pain on the side of rail tracks and locals took him to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to Durgapur Sub-Divisional Hospital where he is recovering now, police said.

Yadav told the police that when he refused to remove his cell phone from the plug point, the two youths seated opposite to him abused him and later dragged him by the collar to the door and kicked him out, Ganguly said.
