Coimbatore: A 24-year-old woman who was declared brain dead by a hospital, following an accident, gave a new lease of life to five persons, as her vital organs were donated to them.
Ms Pavithra met with an accident on October 2 while she was travelling on a two-wheeler with her husband and three-month-old child.
She was admitted to the hospital and was in coma after having suffered traumatic brain injuries, a release from the hospital said.
After she was confirmed brain dead, the doctors today harvested the organs with the consent from her family, it said.
