BSNL will launch 4G-enabled internet services in Indore division by May and wi-fi-based "Internet on wheels" in the current financial year, a top officer said on Wednesday.
"4G-based internet facility allowing users to download the data at the high speed of 8 MBPS will be started by May next", BSNL General Manager G C Pandey announced in a press conference in Indore.
He said the company will roll out first if its modules providing wi-fi-based internet facility to motorists on the move in the ongoing financial year itself.
"BSNL's internet-activated car kit would be available in three types, in the range of Rs 6500, Rs 27,500 and Rs 29,500 (one-time payment), which comes along with a standard dial-up plan of Rs 250 per month, besides other charges on download and fixed monthly charges for the e-car facility", Mr Pandey said.
The general manager said the Indore division has earned revenue of Rs 116.5 crore in FY13, and is aiming at earning the revenue of Rs 147 crore during FY14.
