At least 50 passengers were injured when a cooking gas cylinder caught fire and exploded on a private bus in the district.
According to police, the incident occurred last evening near Kutubpur village in Shikarpur police station area of the district. The bus was going from Shikarpur to Jahangirabad.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akhilesh Meena said the bus was carrying nearly 60 passengers. One of the passengers was carrying the 5 kg cooking gas cylinders.
The injured were taken to a government hospital, he said.
According to Chief Medical Superintendent D K Singhal, as many as 12 injured received more than 40 per cent burns.
