Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh: A roadways bus conductor was today shot dead by some motorbike-borne persons at Babura crossing in Jahanaganj area in Azamgarh while the bus was on its to Ghazipur, police said.
Rakesh Kumar Singh (40) was shot dead by bike borne assailants as soon as the bus reached Babura crossing, police said, adding that panic ensued after the incident with passengers running for security cover, they said.
The assailants managed to flee from the spot after the incident.
Agitated over the incident, roadways employees created a jam in the city demanding immediate arrest of those involved in the murder.
Police is probing the matter and no arrests have so far been made, they said.
