A group of men travelling in a car allegedly beat a bus driver to death in Seemapuri area in the national capital after he did not allow them the right to way in the wee hours.
48-year-old, Sheikh Kale, the tourist bus driver, was beaten to death by the men while he was going back home in New Seemapuri along with his conductor Azad at around 2 am.
Some men in a car tried to overtake his bus at Old Seemapuri roundabout, but the driver did not allow them the right to way. The men in the Qualis tried to overtake the bus several times again, but in vain, police said.
After reaching the destination, Khale was walking towards his home when the men in the car chased and attacked him, a senior police official said.
They said the men beat up the driver and one of them hit Kale on his chest with a brick.
Azad rushed to the spot on hearing the screams of Kale and found him lying unconscious on the ground, the official said, adding that Azad then took Kale to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
He is survived by his wife and seven children, aged between 11 to 19 years.
