Noida: A speeding private bus on Thursday morning mowed down two people and injured three when it rammed into two rickshaws and a motorcycle here, police said.
The incident took place near the Noida City Centre in Sector 32 at about 10 a.m. An eyewitness said the bus was at a very high speed.
The bus driver, who was initially absconding, was later arrested by police in this suburban city near New Delhi.
AK Tripathi, the superintendent of police, said: "The bus was coming in a very high speed. The driver who is arrested said that there was a brake failure and therefore the accident occurred".
The injured have been admitted to the Noida district hospital.
