Bus torched, sleeping man dies

Gumla, Jharkhand: A man, who was sleeping in a stationary bus, was burnt to death when unknown men set it afire in Gumla, a senior police officer said here on Saturday.

"Some unknown men set the bus on fire when Deo Narayan Kharwar, khalasi of the bus, was sleeping last night," Gumla Superintendent of Police, Narendra Kumar Singh, told reporters here.

Denying hand of any naxal group, the SP said the police have launched raids to trace the culprits.

The bus, which plies between Gumla and Jaspur in Chhattisgarh, was at the Gumla bus stand when the incident occurred, he added.
