Buxar: The bodies of nine people, killed on Tuesday after the boat they were travelling in capsized, were today recovered from the Ganga River in Bihar's Buxar district. There were 23 people on the boat which capsized while returning from neighbouring Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh.
All those onboard were workers who had gone from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh in search of work.
Buxar's district magistrate and the Superintendent of Police supervised the rescue operations which have now ended. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also assisted in the operation.
