Kochi: The CBI has filed FIRs against three self financing engineering colleges in Kerala which received AICTE approval allegedly without having proper infrastructure.
Former Director of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Bangalore, Manju Singh, and three others have been listed as accused in the FIR filed in the CBI Special court here on Wednesday.
According to CBI, the accused managed to get AICTE approval by allegedly conspiring with Manju Singh, who had led a technical team of AICTE to inspect the colleges - Palakkad Institute of Science and Technology, Attayampathy, Malabar College of Engineering and Technology and Thejus Engineering College -- last year.
O K Sreedharan, Kollangode Education Charitable Trust Chairman, K S Hamsa, IQRA Education and Charitable Trust Chairman, Desamangalam in Vadakancherry, and C C Thampi Chairman of Thejus Engineering College are the other accused in the case.
