Thane:
Days after the fatal shooting of a builder was caught on security cameras in Navi Mumbai, another shooting has been captured on CCTV footage, this time in the Thane district, a 90-minute drive from Mumbai.
A man is seen speaking on his mobile phone outside the home of a builder Kuldeep Chaudhury. This is 24-year-old Harishankar Dubey. A masked shooter - later identified by the police as Mehul Chudankar - standing behind him, loads his gun and shoots at Mr Dubey. The gun doesn't fire. The shooter tries again unsuccessfully. Mr Dubey turns around, sees the masked gunman, but doesn't react. The third time around, Mr Dubey is shot in the leg, but he continues talking on the phone.
The shooter then moves towards the builder, sitting in his car nearby, and fires a few rounds, but misses Mr Chaudhary, who was his boss, according to the police.
The police have arrested the shooter and claim he was fighting with the builder over Rs 60 lakhs.
The man who was talking on the phone when he was shot is recovering and is not critically injured.
