CBSE principals to be trained by IIM-Bangalore

Bangalore: Central Board of Secondary Education in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) and NUEPA, New Delhi has organised a training programme for its principals across the country as part of the reforms initiated by the board.

IIM-B will conduct two sessions for the principals of senior secondary schools affiliated to the board in 'Strategic management and leadership'. The first session will commence on January 3, 2011 and the second one will start on February 14.

The main objective of the training programme is to introduce and manage change within the school system in the context of school reforms initiated by the CBSE.

"The training will be in areas like institutional building, performance appraisal, evaluation, motivation," said Malathi Somaiah, professor of Public Systems, IIM-B.

The registration fee for the five-day training programme is Rs25,000 per participant. The last date for registration is November 15. Interested principals can download the registration forms from the official website of the CBSE and have to send them to Dr Sadhana Parashar, head (innovation and research), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Sadan, 17, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area, Delhi-110002.
