Chandigarh:
To place Punjab on the World tourism circuit, the state's deputy Chief Minister has approved the Tourism Development Master Plan which aims to establish tourism as a coordinated and organised industry.
The plan which includes schemes like tent and farm tourism, bed and breakfast, was approved on Monday in a meeting after United Nations World Tourism consultants' presentation, an official spokesperson said.
In the meeting, the tourism bill draft was also approved, the official added.
Deputy Sukhbir Singh Badal also approved the demonstration tourism project for regions like Patiala, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi, Nangal and Ropar.
