Choosy burglar steals Euros, leaves Pounds untouched
Delhi: In a robbery that took place in Sainik Farms in south Delhi at the house of a  Germany-based NRI, Devender Nirman Singh, the culprit made away with 15,000 Euros.

The victim had gone to meet her brother-in-law at the time. She suspects that the thief knew where she had kept the Euros. "All my valuables including the 400 Pounds I had kept in my wardrobe were intact. Maybe the burglar could not find it," Singh said.

The NRI who owns several hotels in Germany had recently returned from a trip to Germany and England.

Singh said when she came back from her sister's house she found the lock to the main door broken. "When I entered the house, I found the keys at the proper place. We got a shock when we opened the two rooms in which the almirahs were broken," said Singh.

Police have arrested Sanjeev, the brother of Singh's domestic help. However, the cops refused to divulge any more information saying they have to recover the stolen amount. A police source said Sanjeev and his father-in-law Kashi Ram are being questioned in connection with the crime.

"Sanjeev might have hidden the euros in a pothole. He hails from UP and has a crime record there. He used to hide stolen money in a pothole in an empty plot nearby. It's possible that he did the same with the Euros," said the source.

Police said they are looking into the matter and an FIR has been registered in this respect.
