Coimbatore: Girl makes up abduction story to skip exams

Coimbatore: Apparently to avoid the ongoing mid-term exams, a 13-year-old girl told authorities that she was late to school as she was abducted by two persons in a car who later dropped her mid-way.

The girl, studying in the 8th standard at a private school, came late by 20 minutes for the examination and told the teacher that she was kidnapped by two persons in a taxi while buying a pencil from a shop.

However, they dropped her on the route and gave her Rs 20 for keeping it a secret, the girl told the teacher, who immediately reported it to police.

Upon questioning the girl, police found that she had played a trick on the school as she had not studied properly for the exams.

The student has been warned and advised not to play any such tricks in future, police said, adding, she was trying to cash in on the recent abduction incidents in Tamil Nadu.
