Coimbatore:
Two persons, including a woman, were arrested on Sunday on charges of cheating job aspirants of about Rs five crore on the promise of getting them jobs in various private sector companies, police said.
City police commissioner C Sylendra Babu told reporters that one Kaleeswaran of Pollachi in the district had put out advertisements in newspapers, offering jobs to graduates and those knowing computer technology in different companies.
"He, along with a woman, Usharani, collected Rs three lakh to Rs five lakh from over 100 aspirants during interviews conducted here and in Salem from 2001 and were at large after
that for the last couple of years," the commissioner said.
Based on complaints filed by more than 60 persons, police traced Kaleeswaran to Salem and nabbed the woman from the city, Babu said.
