Nashik: Intense cold wave conditions gripped Nashik city and surrounding areas here with minimum temperatures dipping to 7.4 degree Celsius, the lowest this winter so far.
According to the meteorology department, the city has been experiencing a decrease in mercury levels in the last few days with yesterday being the coldest when temperatures dropped below seven degrees forcing people to take out their woolens and stay at home.
Temperatures in Nashik hovered around 11-12 degree Celsius last week, it said.
As per locals, homeless people and those living on the banks of Godavari especially are seen making bonfires to beat the cold during night.
