Guntur, Andhra Pradesh:
An engineering college student was drugged and done to death allegedly by his friends, who decamped with his motorcycle, gold chain and Rs 4,000, police said on Monday.
G Naga Vardhana Reddi (21), who hailed from Chowpadu village, and his brother were living in a room here. V Srinivasa Reddi, also a resident of Chowpadu, and his friend N Yohan allegedly conspired to kill Vardhana Reddi and steal his articles.
The three went to a cinema hall, where Vardhana Reddi was offered a soft drink mixed with sedative. Vardhana Reddi was later relieved of his valuables and strangled at a secluded place. His body was dumped in a drain, from where it was recovered last week, police said.
