Jalandhar:
Terming Punjab government as the "Gangotri (source)" of corruption, Congress workers today burnt an effigy of the ruling SAD-BJP coalition here and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal. Shouting anti-government slogans, the workers led by district Congress chief Arun Walia burnt the effigy. Both Akali Dal and BJP are "Gangotri and mother of corruption", the workers shouted.
BJP showed its duplicity on the matter of corruption when it did not take any action against Principal Parliament Secretary Raj Khurana, accused of taking bribe, Walia said. "The government has lost its credibility and do not deserve to rule the state. We want Badal to resign," he said.
