Hyderabad:
A police constable and a homeguard attached to Medipally police station here were arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a nursing student, police said on Sunday.
The 25-year-old woman's father Jacob, a Pastor, lodged a complaint with the police yesterday alleging that constable Vijay Kumar and homeguard Narsing Rao tried to sexually assault his daughter when she was alone at their home.
The alleged incident occurred on September 18, when the woman, a resident of Tarnaka had gone to Changicharla village at Medipally, they said.
The woman later informed her father about the incident.
Following the complaint, Medipally police registered a case under relevant sections of IPC against the duo and arrested them, police said adding they were later sent to judicial custody.
