Bangalore: The Bangalore police have launched a massive manhunt for the 32-year-old software engineer from a city-based company who not only sexually exploited his already-married girlfriend, but also forced her to file a divorce petition, and later tried to kill her.
Rangarajan, who hails from Mysore, convinced his junior Kirthi to divorce her husband and marry him. Kirthi left her husband and started living with Rangarajan after filing a divorce petition.
The duo went to Mysore where they reportedly got married, while the petition was still pending in the court.
It was only last week that Kirthi came to know that Rangarajan was planning to marry another girl. When she objected, he not only threatened her, but also tried to kill her by setting her on fire.
Kirthi managed to escape and filed a cheating complaint against him at the HSR Layout police station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east), BNS Reddy said the police have sent the girl for a medical test to build a strong case against the accused.
"We will be sending a notice to his company to take necessary action against him. We will take all measures to secure his arrest and bring him to book," said Reddy.
