Lucknow: Three policemen uprooted an ATM machine containing over Rs nine lakh and took it away after assaulting the guard in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
The three policemen entered the room where the ATM was installed, unbolted the machine and took it away in the wee hours after attacking the guard and damaging the CCTV.
The ATM, which contained over Rs nine lakh, belonged to the Corporation Bank, police said.
Police arrested two constables and recovered the ATM machine and Rs 8.54 lakh from the house of one of the cops.
Another policeman and driver of the vehicle in which the cops fled along with the ATM machine were absconding, police said.
