Cops tore my clothes, alleges 25-yr-old in Delhi
New Delhi: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly beaten, molested and her clothes torn off, while her mother was kicked in the stomach by drunken traffic cops and police constables attached to the Bhalswa Dairy police station in the Capital on Wednesday night.

The girl along with her mother and father, had gone to inquire about her elder brother who was detained by the police reportedly for violating a traffic rule.

She claimed that apart from assaulting her family, the errant cops did not provide any medical help to her injured brother for more than four hours.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jahangirpuri has been asked to look into the matter.

The girl's brother was detained by traffic policemen on Wednesday night near his house in the Bhalswa Dairy area. The cops were allegedly drunk and they thrashed him badly after a minor argument. One of the neighbours informed his family. When they reached the spot, they took him to the Bhalswa Dairy police station to report the crime by the traffic cops.

The family alleges that the cops at the police station sided with the traffic cops and beat the girl and kicked her mother in the stomach.

The girl's father claims that his wife is in a bad shape and has held the police personnel guilty for her condition, alleging that they were not taken to any hospital for more than four hours after they were bashed up.

"Cops tried to stop me from meeting my brother, as they had tortured him and that was evident from his torn clothes," claimed the girl.

"We were made to stand inside the police station for more than four hours. It was only when the ACP of the area arrived there that we were sent for medical treatment at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital. However, the cops who were drunk were not sent for any medical checks," said the girl's mother.

The victims also alleged that the cops threatened to involve them in false cases unless they kept quiet.
