Phagwara:
A couple, allegedly drunk, left their two-month-old sick baby boy alone in a private hospital in Phagwara in Punjab for hours.
"The baby's parents, who were in inebriated condition, had come to the hospital to admit him last night", a child specialist in the hospital, Dr Punit Galhotra said.
"I hesitated first to admit the baby as the parents were drunk. However, seeing the baby in critical condition, I admitted him on humanitarian grounds," he said.
The couple, who are from Garshanker, had a scuffle with each other this morning and left the baby unattended in the hospital.
The doctors informed the police, but the parents later returned in the afternoon and took away the baby with them.
