Ghaziabad: With dishonour-killings on the rise, a newly-wed couple, who married outside their caste, on Thursday sought police protection, citing threat to their life from the girl's family.
The boy is a Brahmin by caste and the girl a Rajput, SSP Raghubir Lal said.
They read together in a local professional college and fell in love before getting married recently, he said.
After the couple expressed apprehensions that they might be eliminated by the girl's family, Kavi Nagar police have been asked to lodge their complaint, the SSP said.
