Rewari, Haryana:
Following court intervention, the marriage of a 15-year-old girl was prevented at Guraora village near Rewari on Monday.
P K Lal, Judicial Magistrate of Kosli, had passed an injunction on Sunday restraining Vijay Pal Yadav of Guraora village, 27 km from Rewari, from solemnising the marriage of his daughter Manoj Yadav (15), a class IX student.
The court also directed police to initiate legal proceedings in case family violated the order.
The court intervention was following an application filed by Neelam Sharma, District Protection and Child Marriage Prohibition Officer.
