Court to babus: Watch Khosla ka Ghosla

Jaipur: In an interesting order, a local court has suggested a special screening of Hindi movie 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' for the urban development and housing (UDH) and police officials to sensitise them about the plight of people who suffer at the hands of land mafia in property-related matters.

In his order, fast track court judge Dinesh Kumar Gupta, while allowing temporary injunction to the petitioner in a land dispute, suggested a special screening of the movie for the UDH and police officials.

"Either through their own contribution or through government funds, officers of UDH department, home department and police are seriously suggested to watch 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'.

It would make them sensitive towards safeguarding the rights and interests of the common man stuck in some land-related dispute," the judge said in his order.

The court has allowed temporary injunction to petitioner Manjusha Jhunjhunwala and has stayed any further construction on plot in question.

The petitioner's counsel told DNA, "The applicant, Manjusha Jhunjhunwala, had bought a 350 square yard plot at Shyampuri near Kalwar road from one Chatrapati Shivaji housing cooperative society.

Later, the society revived the colony's plan and re-alloted another plot measuring 266 square yard to Manjusha."

"Later, she came to know that office-bearers of the cooperative society with forged documents had allotted the said land to one Manju Devi and got the lease deed and patta from Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). Afterwards, it was sold to another person Sunil Yadav in 2008," the counsel said.

Now Manjusha, a native of Meghalaya, approached the court seeking temporary injunction which has been allowed.

The court observed that a clerical mistake had crept in the land transfer process as Manjusha Devi's name was erroneously mentioned as Manju Devi and taking undue benefit, the respondents got a lease deed from JDA and further sold it."
