Rajkot, Gujarat: In a daring daytime heist, three men robbed an employee of a financial firm at knifepoint in Rajkot and ran away with the bag containing Rs 17 lakh cash.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon. According to the police, the Sunil Lalvani, along with his colleague, withdrew Rs 37 lakh from a bank; they split the money and Sunil carried Rs 17 lakh on his two-wheeler.
He was intercepted by three people on a scooter who attacked Sunil with a knife, snatched the bag containing cash and fled the spot, the police said. Sunil sustained injuries on his left hand.
The entire episode was recorded on a CCTV camera installed in a bungalow located in the area and the police are analysing the video footage.
