New Delhi:
A Delhi-bound Air India flight from Visakhapatnam with 174 passengers and crew on-board had to be diverted and landed at Nagpur after pilots detected problem in its engine parameters.
Flight AI 452, an Airbus 321 aircraft, took off from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh around 9 am today as per schedule but after 90 minutes in air, the pilots witnessed fluctuations in the engine parameters on the instrument panel in the cockpit.
Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, the pilots decided to land the plane at the nearest airport Nagpur in Maharashtra, an Air India spokesperson said, adding it was a normal landing.
The plane landed safely at 11.10 am and a relief flight, with manpower and material, was immediately rushed to Nagpur.
The engineers rectified the problem and the plane took off at 2.40 pm for Delhi, the spokesperson said.
